Yes, any modern engine with fuel injectors has a engine control unit (ECU).

Oh yeah they have beeen around since the 1980's and the 1990 Cadillac Brougham powered by the Oldsmobile 5.0L V8 LV2 engine was the last carbureted passenger car manufactured for sale in the North American market without an ECM
