changed the fuel filter no help gas cap builds up preasure when run for a few miles ran with no cap no help checked wires at night no arking i could see plugs and wire and dist cap all about 20000 miles check engine light not on

Do a fuel pressure test, also which engine does your roadmaster have? 305? 350? TBI? or the LT1?

The TBI will have a large air cleaner on the top. The LT1 does not. Along with a fuel pressure test, try checking the timing. It may be off a little.
