low coolant light is on 1990 buick century but coolant level is good

Can you describe exactly what the light looks like, what the symbol is? Let's make sure that the "low coolant' is really what is lit up. If it is, then the sending unit may be bad. Mater of fact I didn't know the 1990 has that feature
