Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tire Pressure Sensor Light comes on and will not go off.  I have checked all four tires, pressure is at 40psi. tire placard calls for 35psi, but light started flashing, then came on steady.  I have adjusted the tire pressure several times to no avail.  How do determine if there is a faulty sensor and which one it is.  Spare tire has no sensor.

if it flashes first it's a malfunction in the tpms system like a bad sensor or otherwise. get a tire shop or dealer to reset system and they'll be able to check codes. if they end in lower numbers (01-08) it's usually just lost communication or higher numbers like 21-27 it's the batteries in sensors and the weak ones will have to be replaced.
