front wheel hopping

Why when braking does my wheel hop

You have a warped break rotor, sounds like a break job is due.

Another thing would be some worn front end parts like a tie rod end.

If it is actual hopping then I would say it is the shocks/struts. It may just be a warped rotor like Rowe says.

The bearings are part pf the rotors. If it's shaking the steering wheel when braking hard from speed like getting off the freeway you will kill 2 birds with one brake job. Like Rowefast and FoR suggest.... Brakes.
