what is the proper way of removing all console pieces to access linkage without damanging parts?

Your key get stuck on,and will not come out.It is faulty key switch in hhr,colbalt,saturn and some cadillac.You have to go to your chevorlet dealership and they has the redone replacement key switch.It is an extremely common thing.They should recall this,but it isn't life treatening
