If not able to get to a dealer/garage while the check engine light is on and cruise light is flashing, what problems could result to continue driving until able to get to a dealer?

FIrst check for a loose gas cap, Subaru's usually do this when that happens. Might take a couple starts and stops for the light to go out. Also could be all loose plug might have been knocked loose or there is a wiring issue to the electronic system.
