My 1996 Lumina LS transmission was dead, can I change from auto to manual transmission ? and,what kind of manual transmission is fitting?

I try to find out by my self , but it's so hard... cus my English not very well
so please give me some suggestions

You probably could but it would probably be a very long drawn out process. I would suggest trying to find a good used auto trans of same year and model and put it in instead. You would have a lot of changes to make to your car to make the manual trans work effectively. Would probably be very costly to change it over manual trans also.
