over heating

Asked by mgregory15 Mar 10, 2016 at 07:00 PM about the 2004 Buick Rendezvous Ultra AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 buick rendezvous that keeps
overheating. Changed the thermostat, the
radiator, and water pump. Still I can't even
make it mile down the road before it says it
is overheating again, and in most cases the
engine is still cold so there is no way it is
overheating. Any suggestions on what I
should try next?

First you need to have a temp test done on it with a external reading of engine when hot, this would show you if it is just a bad temp gauge.

For all yawl with a Chevy impala from 00 to 09 or Buick from 02 to 07 with 3.4l motor you will run into coolant heating issue because the head is aluminum if you lose heat and change the thermostat and still have no heat you have a failed or blown gasket in the head its their design flaw. Buy a 40 dollar bottle of devil blue head gasket fix it works i just used it my heart is back in full force.
