when slowing down to almost stop and then accelerate the trans feels like it is slipping

"Slippage" is a common problem with transmissions in general.  However, your vehicle is way too new (2007) for this to be happening.  This usually doesn't occur for thousands of miles.  I would take it into the dealership (since it's still covered by the factory warranty) and take a technician for a ride and show them what it's doing.  If it really is "slipping" they will be forced to either rebuild the transmission or replace it with a new one.
