After airbag light reset twice, it comes back on.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had my airbag light reset twice and it still came back on. After all the GM recalls,
this is troubling me. I was told that if the light is on, my bags won't deploy. At a loss as to
what to do....2007 Sonata...

Thank you...I have taken it twice to a reputable dealership here in Illinois. First time they reset it, second time, they ordered a part. Some type of sensor. They have never charged me for this.. I am just about to say to hell with it...when I go back to get my oil changed, I will speak to them again about it....this last time the light stayed off for 6 months...thank you again for your help.

Would you please tell which dealer is it? I agree that it is a safety issue and should be fixed at no charge. Unfortunately few dealers i contacted are asking over $500 to fix.

You can't just reset the air light. If the light is on then there is a code and that problem need to be fixed before you reset the air bag light. Pull the code from the computer of the air bag then ask for an estimate with part number on the estimate. Most of the time it is a bad seat belt or a bad left front weight sensor.
