My 1997 chevy cavalier rs 2.2l has a leak in the transmission I went to multiple places and ive had a couple people tell me I can use motor oil is that true and if so should I use 5w 30?

No absolutely do not use motor oil for the trany. It will definitely f**k it up! Just go to the parts store and they will look up the proper fluid to go into it. Its gonna be like Dextron III
