Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have ruled out waterpump (flowing well) i dont think theromostat is installed as radiator flows all the time.. replaced the temp sending unit just below the throttle body. replaced the rad cap... ok the fans will not run unless the ac or defroster is on ... where should i look for the control that will allow the fan to run without ac or defrost on.. if i run ac or defrost the car will not overheat and stays right around 180.

the coooling fan will not run untill the temp reaches approximately 215 degrees or higher. normal running temp should be about 190-200 degrees. thermostat is in the top hose on the engine . also, there is a bleeder screw on the neck of the thermostat to take out any air(should be open slightly(just one turn/ not fully off) when running cold and filling full of coolant; shut / 5 lb-10 lb tightened when poured till coolant seeps).

Thanks Jason ..... I turned off ac and fought the extremely strong urge to kill the engine as the temp creeped up and over 210 and just the 3/4 hash (thinking about 235-240) fans turned on and held temp. At idle no less so I guess all is good and I have just become one of the new f-body happy satisfied owner.
