remove parking brake assembly

Is it the "step-on" style? Or the lever operated deal between the front seats? Yikes...i was going to remove that assembly from my '76 cutlass, after a few hours of squeezing under the dash, around seats, doors, it looked like i had to remove the left fender to access a mounting bolt. i might of gotten it off with the fender on, but getting back in would of been a major challenge. might be one of those jobs best left to a pro.
