I think your problem is the rubber gasket surrounding your windshield!

If you go to your local [M] dealer,you can check for any active recalls.That means it gets fixed for free.
I have the same problem but found the answer the hard way. We keep our car outside year around. What happens is the blower box eventually fills with debris and clogs the drainage discharge. Signs are hearing water swishing back and forth in the front on the passenger side. Next thing you know you smell mold THEN you feel the carpet and it is soaked to the bone. This is a design problem with only one remedy. Take it to the dealer let them clean out the blower box, yearly.
