If you try starting my 1998 volvo s70 t5 without my serpentine belt installed could that cause it too turn over like it's about too start but not start

Why in the wide wide world of sports would you even attempt to start the car without the belt on? Anyway the answer is it would start, run off battery power for a short time then overheat

first of all> is it trying to start better with the belt off than when on???give us/me some better info...i dont care if the belts on or off...any answers without more info is not going to get us anywhere...so if the belt is off and it wants to try and start a little better,,,,it can be /part of a drag on the /a / system....anthing..ya see ????
