How do i program the garage door opener in my over head console?

On my 98 Tahoe 4 door 4wd there is a little door that opens where you put the garage door remote into the overhead console with the button down so when you press the button on the door of the console, it presses the button on the remote. Yours may be more complex, so you may want to check with a GM/Chevrolet dealership, in the service department, and they can help you.
