Thanks for the reply will try cycling the key next time, the check valve leaking would explain it

hey thanks 7jimm7 cycling the key fixes the problem. Went to local Toyota dealer to get a check valve and they told me that the mr2 doesn't have a check valve and I would need to replace fuel pressure regulator!!!. Where is the check valve located
