How to let air out of the cooling system on a 1998 cavalier?

Asked by Anthony Jul 30, 2014 at 12:38 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The oil jockeys drained the cooling
system on my daughter's car. Forgot
to put new coolant or any back in. She
ran it. Overheated.  Now I put some
back in. However its boiling out while
idling.

sounds like the head craked or warped or blown head gasket . don't drive it and do not let it run ---you check the oil--if itlooks milkey it is getting water and coolent ---you need to get the oil shop notified ASAP

sue the "oil jockeys" they blew your engine up- why take a car to "oil jockeys" anyway? (hopefully it is not this bad- good luck)
