How do you remove the rear view mirror from an 2006 Acura RL?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The rear view mirror on my 2006 Acura RL is getting all sorts of odd shaped white lines inside the glass (some look like snowflakes). I bought an Acura replacement but I am having trouble removing the failing mirror. It appears to slide and snap into place but I'm not sure....

I have a 2002 Acura TL 3.2... the rearview mirror was ripped off... after which I noticed that none of the gauges or lights on my dash work, my windows and sunroof no longer were working, and my radio only flashes "code" when I try to turn it on... even worse yet, my transmission which was already having problems, seems to be a little more impared than it was before... I checked all the fuses, none of them are blown, but some of them are not getting power... I am not an electrician or mechanic, but I don't have the money to hire one either... does anyone out there know what I might have done, and how I could possibly try to fix it?
