About: 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLS
whats its reliabilty factor at over 100,000 miles

I am looking to purchase one, however the one I am considering has 103, 000 miles, should I be overly concerned?(mechanical repairs)

As with any vehicle that 103,000 you should be a little concerned with the high mileage. If it was a Toyota or a Honda I would have said be less worried, but VW has had somewhat of a quality control issue on their vehicle, so make sure to have it checked out by a mechanic before you make your choice.

as long as the servicing has been kpet up to date, it should be fine, them Audi engines are very good. I have a 2002 passat TDI Sport, and it is running the same engine as the Audi A4.

As Dennis pointed out. If its been kept well maintained mechanically then you shouldnt need to worry.
I own a '87 Passat GT and i just passed the 570,000 mile mark 3 weeks ago on a trip with friends.
My dad owns a 2003 1.8T Which he bought 3 years ago and its already racked up 135,000 miles and apart from changing two engine coils when he first bought it the cars fine.
