what should the tire pressure be on my 2002 volkswagon passat station wagon?

look on the body of the car when you open the drivers door, there is a sticker there, probably, like most cars, somewhere around 32psi....all 4

I go by the max pressure written on the tires. Unless you have original tires, VW doesnt know what tires you have. You'll need to make a little bit of judgement call and put in less for a softer ride and more PSI for better fuel mileage and load capacity. Just checking them is more than 95% of people do!!

Don't go by pressure written on the tire! Go by the manufacturer's (VW) recommended values. On my Passat GLX station wagon (V6, AWD), I use slightly higher pressure than the recommended value on the rear, as I prefer the handling that way.
