my fusible links have started to melt and my battery dies, what could be the problem?
the alternator was replaced about a year ago but the car drains the batterycould there be some kind of short or circuit overload.
melting wires=short 9/10 times...
You can try to diagnose the problem with a multi-meter. Check current while ignition is off to see what circuit is drawing an abnormal amount of charge. If nothing is drawing charge, I'd have the battery checked, and be worried about what is causing those wires to melt.
If you have no experience with electrical, take it somewhere... I wish I could be more helpful but electrical is my personal weakness.
