I bought my car from a Mercedes dealer (MB of Ontario) 6 weeks ago. Out of the six weeks they have had it for four weeks plus for various issues with the car. I'm finally getting it back tomorrow(???). How can I protect myself from a possible lemon?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

One day after purchasing the vehicle, red went on stating the windshield wiper fluid was low.  Three days after, light lit again while driving on the highway stating key was not within the range.  A day later I could not unlock the car and was stranded.  Took it back to the dealer.  Day after getting the car back from the dealer and they stating they had done a complete check on the vehicle; the car would not start and when it did it stalled on me.  Took it back to the dealer.  Now they have had it for three weeks.  I'm to get it back tomorrow.  I'm afraid the vehicle is not to the standard the dealer promised.

DON'T ACCEPT IT, I would contact dept. of transportation, you (in USA) have a small time frame of opportunity, why buy a headache, complain complain complain, all you can!!!!!! it sucks to have to be negative, btu it is one expensive gamble. do what you can (contact free legal advise from a lawyer) to get out of it.....

Ontario Calif USA or Ontario Canada? I agree with John, and wish you luck. There is such a thing as MB of Ontario Ca 40 miles east of LA. One problem is, if you financed it, do not stop making the payments, the finance Company does not care about your problems, all it will do is ruin your credit.
