What could be causing a loud popping noise when braking, accelerating, or turning?

C.V. joint in the half shaft, ball joint, tie rod end. Whatever it is get it fixed before something falls apart and leaves you stranded or in an accident.

in addition to what john said check control arm bushings ive seen a few malibus with the problem you described caused by the bushings
