what causes no spark to starter

2001 Chevy Tracker acted like starter locked up changed starter still acting the same. What could be the problem with no spark to the starter

In acting the same do you mean that there is nothing? Starter does not make a noise?

Yes, the connections need to be refreshed...the cable from the Battery to the Block...a lot of times people forget the Block and corrosion can happen at that location too~
