how do i turn off or disable my tailtell security system in a chevy 2002 step side s10

Turn the key on and attempt to start it, after attempting to start it leave the key on for 10 minutes and the security light will shut off. Once its off turn the key off and attempt to start it again. Sometimes it happens on the first try and other times it takes 3 tries. http:// www.cargurus.com/Cars/ Discussion-c3301_ds505015 ....... delete the spaces after copy and pasting the link.
