my 2001 cavalier doesn't use the whole tank of gas before it starts shutting off, goes down to 1/4 then starts running out

Check your fuel filter,may be stopped up,when you run low on fuel.

Changed fuel filter, and fuel pump.got new one that was made in Mexico, it was cheap. Do you think it could be fuel pump.but it does good till it get low on fuel.im sure it is down all the way to bottom of tank.it still has about 3 or 4 gallons lefted when it acts up.
Sure SOUNDS like a clogged fuel filter ! Positive they changed that ?
