2.2L swap

Just wondering if i can pull a 2.2l motor
from a 97 S-10 with a manual transmission
and just drop it in my 96 without more than
maybe an intake swap? Thanks

Edit: not pulling trans with. My 96 has an auto and i want it to stay that way.

Depending on the motor you are swapping with, your electrical harness and computer may not allow for an easy swap.

I find myself in the same place. I was hoping to use a stand alone ign. Like used on a ls it seems that won't work. I dead in the water on this. I running propane or plan on it. Mine a buggy toy. Has any got over this problem. If so what's the answer. Maybe we will find out together

I have a 94 2.2L automatic s10 that the wiring harness burn/melted wires together in the dash, I found a 94 2.2l 5 speed I was wondering if the wiring harness would interchange plug right in to the plugin I got and would work with my ECM computer? Does anyone know?

are you all a bunch of idiots i asked a simple question will a 98 2.2 out of a cavilier work in a 97 s-10 or not and why why all the jerking around if you dont know then say so
