My car starts but won't turn on

My ford f250  sounds like it want to start but I
won't  turn on we don't know if it's over heated and
how can we check is the car overheated

You can't check if it's overheating without it running. If it's cranking and turning over but not starting you're either not getting spark or fuel delivery. Unless it's diesel in which case the glow plug(s) may be faulty
