2004 chevy trailblazer sputtering and turning off

Asked by Teegee81 Jun 21, 2014 at 01:31 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced ignition cylinder after a
botched theft attempt. Next day car drove
fine until later that day went to drive again
turned AC on. That's when it started
sputtering and turning off when I would
stop.  As I accelerated it, it is making a
helicopter type noise also feels like it wants
to" go" when idling.
BTW we already cleaned throttle.

If you are still having trouble, you may want to ask about reprogramming the computer. When you change parts on these new vehicles, they require relearning to get everything back on the same page. Sensors like the crank sensor, the knock sensor, and I would think that changing the key cylinder would also need to be relearned since it is an anti-theft part. Not all shops can do this so call around and ask. You don't have to go to the dealership, most reputable shops can do it. Hope this helped.
