Merc.c280 auto.....if booked stamped, re sevicing.... is car covered under policy warranty ? re - run.....

I have a 95 c280 and some times last it acts like the transmission was gone and woulsd not pull made a loud winding sound. If I let it set for a while and goes as if nothig is wrong. Had to have it towed a few times and it did the same thing. dont thing its the trans because when it runs it runs good.
