Why did my clutch drop to the floor?

Asked by kato907 Aug 28, 2014 at 09:01 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier has been acting like it might have a clog in the fuel filter and
almost stalled out the last 2 days.  It has been shifting fine until tonight, after I drove
home, I got back in my car and my clutch dropped to the floor as though nothing is
holding it.

If you go to a transmission shop, around $100.00. If you can find a independent garage. $65.00 more or less. It's not a hard job.
