Okay i got totally screwed by a mechanic. He said he rebuilt my transmission but didn't warranty ran out one week after experation date. I am stuck. I can get a used transmission with the transfer case for cheaper than rebuilding it again and replacing the transfer case on its own. The transmission I want to buy has 54,200 miles on it. How can I know if I can used it in my 2004 chevy avalanche? Please help.

see if they know the year and engine size of the vehicle it came out of as long as the engine size is the same, your good to go. both transmissions should be the 700R4, but cant be possative.
