1996 Tercel codes p0100 and c0304 ?
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
1996 Tercel codes p0100 and c0304 ?
my 1996 Tercel engine light comes on and my obd2 reader gives codes p0100 and c0304.
I clear the codes and they come back within 30 miles.
Has Auto transmission, and car seems to run fine.
My reader does say C0304 not P0304. I can't find anything on C0304.
And I can't find anything in my manual that a 96 Tercel has a Mas Airflow sensor.
What do you think the problem is? ...thanks!

My suggestion to you is to find someone that can access the manufacturer codes as it looks like the generic OBD2 codes are a mish mash of information just to pass the US emissions requirements. My guess is that the code 100 is actually pointing to the MAP sensor and should look there for testing ( Known for hose breaking off of it ) The C0304 I thinkis a phantom code as "C" codes are body control codes which this car does not have. Good Luck

Thank you for the help! Stopped by a friends and used his OBD11 tester and it gave different reading, said EGR fail. Checked EGR and found plugged up. I also seem to have a useless OBD11 tester
