When I press on the brake the dash and park lights come on. Is there a short in the wiring?

Unlikely, were a short circuit present, you'd be blowing fuses. My guess is either one of two things or both. One, some one "may" have wired a stereo in the car incorrectly causing the problem. Two, the car was "possibly" in a collision and rewired incorrectly. The only way to know for sure is to trace the malfunction from the source backwards.

The brake lights stay on with the ignition switch off and all lights turned off. What causes this? I was informed that it is the micro switch for the brakes. If so, where is that located?

I checked the fuse, but it appears good, even went to the junk yard and replaced the headlight switch, but I still only have headlights. Anybody ever have this problem?
