Sounds like a bad controller on the dash. The thing with the knobs and buttons. Try getting the unit from a junk yard.

I have the same problem on 2004 Toyota Sienna. The difference is that the driver side does not heat up, but passenger side is heated in the winter. In the Summer, it is the opposite. The air condition doesn't work (hot air) on the driver side, but works with the passenger side. It seems that the back follows the driver side.

I got a problem in my 2005 Toyota sienna I turn on the heater and one side is cold and the other side is hot , Can somebody help me with the answer

I had the same problem. It ended up being the heat actuator which I understand to be a little flap that regulates the cold air versus the hot air. Got that replaced and everything works great now. Well, except now the other side is on the blink.

The 05 sienna possibly others has 3 separate actuators on the passenger side ...bottom line if it blows cold it's the bottom actuator next to your left leg. Take off the panel on that side u will see.it that's it . The one up top is the cold air refresh one which is not it u can also look it up on YouTube that's how I found it
