91 Previa - engine seriously falters after a slightly hard left turn. Takes 3-4 min to recover.

Asked by Robar77 Apr 24, 2014 at 12:00 AM about the 1991 Toyota Previa 3 Dr Deluxe Passenger Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

One owner. 450,000 k. Never driven hard or abused. Engine has always run beautifully, and has never been opened. Lately it really falters bad after a sweeping or hard left turn.  Takes it about 3 minutes to recover.  Fuel delivery? Gremlin?

Wow- those Previas go a long way- gotta love that- because it is so hard to get to that engine- fuel pump may not be pickin' up in the tank when the gas sloshes around- oil pump can have the same problem- fuel filter been replaced? Instead of trying to diagnose this extremely hard to replicate problem, how 'bout just takin' those turns slower? Until the problem becomes worse or just goes away- with that kinda mileage you can't expect it to behave like a new Corvette-
