Assuming you have the 5 speed manual transmission: EPA mileage est. (cty/hwy): 19/26 mpg

2.2L 4 cyl 5 speed manual 19 city 26 hwy, 2.2 L 4 cyl automatic - same, 1.8L 4 cyl 5 speed manual 25 city 32 hwy, 1.8L 4 cyl Automatic 23 city 31 hwy

Since the OP has the '97 Celica GT ..it's the 2.2L 4 cylinder engine (the 1.8L 4 cylinder was used in the Celica ST only). Therefore, Manual OR Auto Transmission = 19 mpg City / 26 mpg Highway.
