power tail gate window
rear window quit working,now just clicks when you try whats the problem?the relay or motor its self?any way to over ride to get it down to work on it?must be a fairly common problem with these rigs?i see alot of parts for them on ebay.need to get it working and havnt had much luck yet.thnx james
have had the same problem in a few of my 4runners. if you pull the switch out of the center console you will see on the bottom of the
switch there are a few wires. try shorting the wires together with a small screw driver and see if it wants to move. if that doesnt work the
motor is probably fried and you will want to crawl in the back pull the tailgate cover off unbolt the motor and the window will fall down
without the motor installed.
make sure there's not a bug, yea that was out there.
but that was the problem with mine.
in alot of the first gen 4runners the motors goes bad... it happened to mine when the PO had it and he got it fixed before i got it
Before you buy a motor, check the relay. There's a relay in the back, this is a more common problem. Also, some people's problem is that the rear wiper isn't fully closed.
