Las Vegas hybrid repair shops?
Other than dealers, who in Las Vegas can repair an '05 Prius inverter problem? (Probably I need to have the inverter
pump replaced.)
You could come to MASSACHUSETTS :)
I would assume you are talking about the coolant pump??
Bad news the pump are on backorder from Toyota.
Good Luck
Based on the video at Lucious Garage http://www.lusciousgarage.com/blog/comments/prius_code_p0a93_inverter_water_pump_seized/, it seems the inverter pump is not working. Yeah, the dealer told me they're on backorder. So I bought a pump off ebay for $130. It looks like it ought to cost $10 to make. The dealership wanted to charge $200.
Given that the dealer wants $200+ to install this doohickey, I'm tempted to do it myself. I know it shouldn't be too hard but I have some questions:
1. What needs to be removed to access this pump?
2. How do I drain the coolant? Can I just put it back in?
3. Is bleeding the line necessary? If so, how?
http://classic.artsautomotive.com/Prius30K.htm
shows the inverter coolant drain on the transaxle.
It also recommends a Matco Airlift http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/uv550000.html to prevent bubbles. But where do you get that special adapter for the coolant reservoir? Can you make do with the rubber adapters it comes with?
I still don't know how much coolant fluid is in there.
