2003 pontiac grand am gt that stutters

Asked by Ricky Mar 27, 2015 at 10:37 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT every time i go to start the car it stutters and
once i finally get it started it smells like gas. Once it starts it runs just fine, until i turn
it off and have to start it again. It seems to work better in the winter than in the
summer. When its hot outside it takes longer and stutters longer until it starts. I have
no idea where to even begin with this. I have changed the fuel filter and that didn't help
at all. Please help! Thank you in advance!

Yes I changed the spark plugs same time as the fuel filter sorry I forgot to add that one in. But no there are no lights on the dash

go to your local autozone and have a code reader put on the car and see what comes up. sounds to me like you have a bad 02 sensor (upstream or downstream).
