Do Pontiac grand am's have a turn off switch for low motor oil level?

Asked by Anshubert Oct 05, 2014 at 12:18 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My sisters car died when she was
driving yesterday. It never got hot
and the oil light didn't turn on until
the car died. When her boyfriend
went to look at it today the oil was
bone dry. They put almost 4 qts of oil
in but it still won't start. Did the
engine likely seize up or is there
maybe a turn off switch that needs to
be reset?

Hi, sad to hear that happened to your sisterĀ“s car. I have a Grand Am too and as far as I know , there is a Reset red button on driverĀ“s side fuse panel, but that is after an oil change.
