This bulletin involves drilling a hole in the A/C evaporator housing to allow for cleaning of the drain tube. 1. Pull the carpet down in the passengers foot well and locate the evaporator drain in the housing (See Illustration). 2. Drill a 1/4 inch hole in the center of the drain tube housing as shown. Clear the drain tube with a wire or suitable tool by inserting it through the hole and into the drain tube. 3. Insert plug, P/N 5255217 into the 1/4 inch hole drilled previously. 4. Verify that the drain is clear by operating the system in the A/C mode and observing that water is draining.

instead of a wire, BLAST with some compressed air....it is more elegant a solution~ general populations are not allowed these but the MAC tool truck has them...and your local shop will be happy to do this for you~

you could use Duct tape when you are done, not P/N 5255217...it's covered up by the dash anyways~

Look at the fire wall below the a/c dryer.(big silver tank on pass. side at firewall) there is a tube that sticks out abt. 3/4 in.or so. This is the drain. Its kinda hard to see. Compressed air does work best.

(can you hear water sloshing in evap case? YES? drain is clogged)also make sure the foam gasket is present between evap. case drain tube and the firewall on the inside of vehc. May have been left off from prev. repair. Jeep makes a hose that you install onto the evap tube at firewall. the water may be draining but it may be running back in by this hose not being present. Chrysler also has techs install an o-ring around drain tube. as water leaves the tube, it runs back toward the firewall on the outside of drain tube, Then it hits the o-ring and drips off of it instead of running back into vehc. Hope this helps......

Where is this clog? Passenger side floorboard floods hard with intensive a-c use. I see the details of a big silver hp.lp connector on the firewall but no low-pressure drain line. Thanks in advance. #bewell
