My 06 Crown Vic's oil light stays on. Looks like it's oiling. No rattles at all. What besides oil pressure makes the light come on?

The oil sending unit will make the light come on. If I were you I wouldn't drive the car until I got the light to stay off. One time I was driving one of my trucks and my oil light would come on every now and then. no noises from lifters rattling so i thought it was the sending unit. So I put it off for a few days. Then I was driving about 65 on the interstate the oil light came on and about two seconds later I threw a rod out the side of my block. The truck I have now the oil light came on when you first started it for about 30 seconds then it would go off and act normal. I changed the sending unit and it hasn't been back on since.

Change the oil pressure sender. If the light is still on then the oil pressure needs to be measured with a mechanical gauge to determine if the problem is the oil pump or something similar.
