Strange it does it when you let off. I would have thought it to be a misfire. Does it jerk at all when you get a good load on it going up a hill in overdrive?

You probably have a coil pack breaking down. You can wait for it to get worse and turn the cel on and take it anywhere and the code will tell you what cylinder. Or the best bet is take it to the dealer and have them drive it with the factory scan tool hooked up and it will tell you which cylinder it is without having to wait for it to get worse. But the does cost a bit more

Yeah i knew i had to take it to the dealer soon i got it from the auction in aberdeen a month ago that and my mechanic said i might have my idol pully going bad. Im just learning alittle about cars

And if its not a misfire and is something else a compatent tech at the dealer will be able to eliminate that fairly quickly.

Well its good you got a crown vic. They dont have many problems and when they do they are easy to work on if your gonna do your own work

If it is a coil its usually a couple hundred for the part and install at our dealer. Or just have them figure out what it is and pay the diag fee which would be much less and attempt the repair your self if its easy enough
