How is a 1500 Silverado work truck model different from the regular ext. cab 1500?

I was just wondering how the 1500 Silverado work truck model is different from the regular model?  I just bought a 2004 ext. cab 1500 and it was referred to as a "work truck."  It has heavy vinyl mats but it there anything else different that I should know about?

Hi yankeegirl,

The level of trim associated with the work truck as compared to the regular 1500 is lower.  Vinyl used instead of cloth, black exterior trim instead of chrome, wheels were steel instead of aluminum, etc.  Unfortunately, it's referred to as a work truck because it usually looks like a work truck - more basic inside and out.  Thankfully, I'm not aware that the engine or transmission is less than standard.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply.  Mine seems fancier than that.  It has cloth, chrome trim, not sure about the wheels.  Right before it was put up for sale a pinstripe was added to the silver exterior.  As long as it rides like a dream, which it does, I am happy.  24,600 miles and the price was right.
