Transmission Slipping

Asked by jsitka Mar 30, 2016 at 07:13 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The transmission on my 2003 Monte Carlo with the 3.4 litter is slipping. I have 114,000 miles on the car. When I come to a complete stop and start to go, the engine will rev but the car doesn't go anywhere. It will eventually catch and jerk the car forward. I have tried, having it drained and flushed, tried the Lucas Oil Transmission additive, and they have helped but it still does this. Any suggestions?

unfortunately it sounds like you need an overhaul. once they get to this point there isn't really anything you can add or do to it to extend its life - sorry for the bad news
