Transmission slipping on chevy express 2001

Hi I have a chevy express 2001 g2
4.3 engine my problem is on the 3rd
gear it slipping and won't go to 4th
only I play a lil with the gas it will
shift... If I go manually to 3rd gear it's
driving and not slipping

Could be the overdrive band in your transmission is burned up. Basically it means your tearing into the trans and rebuilding it. So if you really like the van, start looking for a used transmission or drive it like is till you save enough up for a rebuild. Have a local trans shop give you a free estimate.
