The recent recall involves 760,000 RAV4s from the 2006 to early 2011 model years and 18,000 Lexus HS 250hs from the 2010 model year. “that if the nuts on the rear suspension arm are not tightened following the proper procedure and torque specification during a rear-wheel alignment service, excessive play may occur at the threaded portion of the arm, followed by rust formation and possible failure.”

There was also a major recall due to some vehicles' throttle sticking. IDK what the final solution was but Toyota said it was for the floor mats holding the pedal down. Not sure specific models, would have to do more research.

Thanks Tom. That was very helpful to me, as I could not find anything more on the subject..I even called the Dealer where I bought my Corolla, and either the service manager lied to me or is just plain stupid, Or ignorant. Or both. He said " There have been no recalls on Toyota products since the throttle sticking debacle and that was no defect in design or manufacture of the cars involved. People were plowing in to things on purpose so they could sue us, the deep- pockets they think we are, so don't even think about doing that" End Quote. I felt like reaming his ass on the phone but I let it go...I am SOOOO tempted to name names on the Dealer but I better be careful..he would just deny it , but that last little dig he got in pissed me OFF..and I am an even-tempered mellow kind of guy. Thanks again Tom and Good Day to you.

Oh yeah...I forgot..Andrew when I bought the Corolla there are little hooks right in front of the drivers floor, and grommets in the mat , but I know a neighbor that has an '07 and does not have them

OK I did some reading on this and that guy really told me a whopper, there has been 8 separate recalls, on a whole list of models, all voluntary by Toyota, (The NHTSA did not order it done) the last in 2011, mostly all floor mat issues. Indeed, some dealers put floor mats in Camrys and Corollas that were made for the RAV. 99% of the so-called defects are nothing more than LAWYERS trying to go after Toyota (which really does have "deep pockets") And FI everybody I am not defending Toyota out of some agenda, I am no crusader for Toyota or anybody else....but 21 people did died but out of respect for the dead I'm not placing blame on them
